If you’ve been keeping up with our insider news you know that it’s been a while since I’ve posted an update. Exciting things have been happening and I haven’t been as devoted to communication as I should be.
Benz School of Floral Design
The school experience in College Station was just terrific. I learned so much about design and mechanics and met some very interesting people. I have dabbled in floral design for many years, all self-taught. My school experience confirmed to me that I really do have an innate feeling for working with flowers and, according to my instructors, I have a real eye for design.
Status of Dalliance
Currently I am working hard to get everything in place to start my business. Dalliance will operate as a studio florist. I will concentrate on wedding and special event flowers as well as offer custom arrangements for my clients. This means that I will not maintain a retail shop presence but will conduct business on a one-on-one basis. Web Site Changes Coming
Be sure to keep an eye on our web site, Dalliance.com. We are working on a line of custom Christmas cards and will soon be showcasing some of the custom arrangements that I will have available in the Dallas area.
Encouragement
I am working everyday with flowers now. I cannot even begin to tell you the thrill I get from designing and working with these beautiful flowers. I believe I have searched my entire life to find the one thing I was truly meant to do; I have found it in my flowers! There is such a peace and joy in finally discovering who you are and what you are best suited to do; I’m grinning ear to ear right now just trying to describe that feeling to you. Never be afraid to dream, never be afraid to try something new, never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and reach for the stars; you might actually be able to grab one!
